BOARD OF TRUSTESS REPORT 2007
Teresa M. Langley, Chairman

It has been an honor to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees this past year.  I love the house and overseeing its care.  It has been music to my ears when I ask the house chairman how is the house and she says: “everything is fine”.  We did have one major expense this year when we replaced a heating and cooling unit.  We had put “band-aides” on it for years so it actually lasted much longer than expected.

The Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee work well together to take care of one of our most valuable assets.  The house is in good repair but as with all old houses there are items that need attention.  The outside needs a new coat of paint and there are several areas of concern inside.  Hopefully these items can be resolved soon and will not be too costly.

Two of our board members were at the end of their terms this year:  Etta Mae Rouse and Joy Cooper.  These ladies have done a wonderful job and we extend our heartfelt thanks for their years of service.  Recommendations for two new board members were approved during convention.  We welcome Regina Griggs (Harper House) and Jessie McLam (Granville Grays) to the board.  They will serve three year terms.

Our librarian, the house chair and the ground’s chair will be staying in those positions for another year.   They have done an outstanding job this past year.  The library is in order, the house sparkles and the grounds are maintained year round.  The flowers were lovely even though we had a very dry summer.

I missed seeing everyone at convention this year!  Sara Powell represented the board in my absence and did an excellent job.  We were fortunate again this year to receive generous donations during convention. We will be good stewards and make sure the funds are used wisely.  Thank you so much for your continuing support and I look forward to convention next year!

Donations to the NC Division Headquarters House will be listed in the next Minute Book.
